PERSONAL BIO: The great game of hockey has taught me a number of skills that are transferable to my everyday life today and that I am forever grateful for. Lessons from being a team player, setting personal goals, a positive mind and overcoming adversity continually influence me in all parts of my work and personal life. I feel very fortunate to have enhanced these skills during my NHL career and look forward to further developing them throughout my life. People often ask what retirement life is like and what I’m doing with all my free time…simply put, life is busier than ever and I’m enjoying every minute of it! Since hockey concluded, I have gone back to my roots by creating an agricultural enterprise that involves the cattle business, farming and ranching. I am also in partnerships in a number of businesses associated with that. I love spending time with my family, which consists of my wife Megan, son Max (8), and daughter Grace (5). Spending time at Lake Windermere as a family is one of our favorite family getaways. I help coach Max’s hockey Novice team. Grace loves swimming and gymnastics and anything her big brother does. A favorite memory of being a Calgary Flame is just that. I grew up loving everything about the Flames, so being able to wear that jersey was simply an honor and something I will always cherish!
