Q&A – BRENDAN MORRISON

Q: What was your favourite memory while playing for the Flames?

It would have to be playing in the Heritage Classic at McMahon Stadium. It was a freezing cold day but it was a memorable experience.

Q: Who was your favourite teammate and why?

I got along really well with Matt Stajan. He had an even keel demeanour and was unassumingly funny.

Q: Where did you settle down when you retired from hockey?

I ended up staying in Calgary. I have 4 kids and they were all pretty comfortable in their schools and activities. We liked the city and the community we were living in.

Q: What did you do after you hung up your skates?

I became a pretty good taxi driver! Lots of time at hockey arenas and soccer fields. I started a rental company in the oil and gas sector with a former teammate Geoff Sanderson, I do some property management with a group out of Vancouver and I also host a fishing show called Reel West Coast.

Q: What are your interests and passions outside the game?

I really enjoy being on the water. Most of that time is spent fishing but I like to explore the sounds and inlets on the West Coast of Vancouver Island with my family.
